Party Day!

This past Saturday we had Katie Jo's party. Last year we had a jump castle for the kids to enjoy and that worked out very well. We decided to do the same thing this year but when I called the one we wanted was booked already. So, we had to go up one level which wasn't a lot more but good Lord it was a lot bigger! Jay came to the back door on Saturday and yelled up to me, "have Katie Jo look out her window." I glanced outside to see it and I nearly fainted. It was monster big and screamed of Disney characters. When Katie Jo looked outside she immediately said, "let's go jump!" She got to enjoy it a full hour before any of the guest arrived and it was nice to see her jump, climb and slide. It was also a great way to keep her occupied while we did last second running around.
The party was a huge success and Katie Jo really enjoyed having her friends from church, preschool, and the neighborhood celebrate with her. They all had a blast in the jump castle and the adults even got to stand around and chat!

The kids LOVED the slide

Cupcakes are always a great way to refuel.

And with the deflating of the castle the party was over!

I put sunglasses in the goody bag and as you can see they were a hit!

Aunt Joni came for the festivities too and has now decided she is even further than she thought from having children!

We waited until after Katie Jo's nap to open gifts. I have seen this trend at more and more parties and I liked the idea. I know some of the kids probably wanted to see her open their gift but at three years old I don't think most of them even realized it didn't happen. It was so nice to sit around and relax and enjoy seeing what she got. She got a variety of gifts but some of her favorites were the skates, a plastic flower, and play doh.

KJ loved this set. When you pressed the button the mirror talked. Please take note of Joni's face. I think by the looks of it, this was probably about the 20th time KJ pressed that button!
Don't forget to look at the cards!
Trying out the new skates was fun. Katie Jo got a little testy when they rolled too fast and she pitched a little fit. It didn't help that every time she moved her feet they just rolled out from under her and she couldn't move from the spot she was in since she was holding Jay and Gran's hand. It was actually one of the funnier things I've seen lately.
She already looks like a pro.

She looks like she had a blast. She's too cute. What an exciting day! At all the parties Madison has been to with his classmates over the years, they have never opened presents. This takes care of so many issues!
