Yesterday was a day full of "first" for us.
First, Georgia had her first night of wakefulness. Up until now she has woken up to feed a few times, but always went back to sleep allowing me about 6-7 hours of sleep. Sunday nite starting at 11 she was unusually fussy and kept grunting. She had gas. She stayed awake until 3 am. Ironically most of that time was spent just being awake with a random cry every once in awhile. It was manageable but nonetheless tiring.
Monday was our first day alone with Jay out of town. He drove to the upstate for a funeral leaving us to fend for ourselves. Thankfully there are no "first" disasters to report.
Georgia had her first prescription called in. She has a plugged tear duct and needed some ointment. We haven't gone to get it yet, but her eye already has quit producing the yuck so hopefully it's already fixed itself.
We had our first trip to the neighborhood park. I changed Georgia's diaper on the picnic table for the first time and breastfed on a park bench for the first time (thankfully the two men with their son's had left by then!).
Georgia's belly button fell off yesterday so she got her first bath last night. She did fairly well and loved having the water poured over her belly. This was done with one hand as the other was used to hold in a pacifier. That way she could think more clearly and not be overwhelmed with too much stimulation! :)
So it was a monumental day and tiring too. I didn't shed one tear and managed to relax for a whole hour before going to bed. And yes, Georgia slept last night so thankfully the gas is gone.
